Richard has been in the shopping centre industry in Ottawa in various capacities for 30 years and as such is a respected industry leader. His contacts for retail leasing, management, development and sales are second to none. 2011 is his seventh year at Colonnade as VP Retail.

Richard began his career with Campeau Corporation in Ottawa in 1981, followed by four years as part of the Rideau Centre Management team, one of Canada’s leading shopping centres.

A desire to remain in Ottawa and a void in retail brokerage services, resulted in 16 successful years in retail leasing and sales, first with Ottawa’s Regional Group, then as part of the national Retail Group at Royal LePage Commercial. He accepted an invitation to join Colonnade in January 2004.

Since then, he has helped Colonnade lease and develop company owned centres in Eastern Ontario which include, Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire, Staples, LCBO, Dollarama, Scotiabank, TD Canada Trust, Tim Hortons, A&W and so on. His knowledge and industry contacts have also been beneficial to the owners of Colonnade’s managed retail properties and through development services agreements to area land owners.

Richard is an avid golfer at the Ottawa Hunt Club and has an even more avid community volunteer over the years to the benefit of numerous local charities. Currently he is a member of the Lead Gift committee and is the chairman of the Leaders for Mental Health Breakfast for the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.
